SFC 3 & SFC 2 FEDERATION ARMADA WARPS IN

Thanks to the awesome conversion talents of Knox1711, and beautiful models bu the likes of Pneumonic81, we can offer SFC3 versions of the Sovereign, Akira, Nebula, Galaxy, Intrepid, Defiant, Excelsior, and Excelsior-B! And you SFC2 owners, in most cases these ships are newer and better versions of the old starards offerings, so be sure to download 'em! - Cleeve out

UPDATED ROMULAN GRIFFIN FOR SFC 2 & 3 AVAILABLE

Sorry for no major updates, still haven't had the time. What I *did* manage to do was update the textures on DarkDrone's SFC3 version of the Griffin. I wanted them more detailed, without the red wingfeather highlights, and I made the ship Bettleccruiser-sized as well. Also added damage textures and glows. Download at your leisure! - Cleeve out

NIERRH FOR SFC 3 POSTED!

Thanks for the conversion of my SFC2 Nierrh mod by Dead Meat (Chris Harris), and sorry I took so long to post it. Lots of SFC3 Rommies by DarkDrone on the way, as well as Feds converted by Knox1711! - Cleeve out

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND NX-01 for BC and SFC 2 & 3!

Good lord! Sorry, I have had alot of car problems as well as other things taking up my time (like christmas :) ) so the site hasn't been updated as much as it should have been. But fear not! I am taking steps to rectify the situation. And to begin, I've converted Pneumonic81's impeccable NX-01 model and will offer it as a download, thanks to John Addison for permission! - Cleeve out

SFC3 KLINKS HERE!

I wanted to post these some time ago but I had some technical issues getting the damage textures to work in SFC3. FInally figured it out, so here they are: My Kron, K'vek, and Vorcha mods as well as Moonraker's K'tinga. I added TNG engine textures to the K'tinga with a little glow to make it interesting in SFC3. Click the images below to go to the pages & download 'em! - Cleeve out

NOVA CLASS FOR SFC3 (& SFC 2)!

I wanted a Nova for SFC3 and Redragon's was IMHO the best available, although I thought the textures could use an update, so I remade them by hand.
The SFC3 engine also had some problems with the model so I had to make
some modifications, and while I was at it I added a more accurate bridge dome. Get it by clicking the pic below!
More SFC3 models on the way. I've also added a rudimentary FAQ for installing SFC3 ships that'll have to do until I can get to it properly. - Cleeve out

Yeah, I've been slow on this one but I plan to add alot this weekend. We're starting off with the Romulan Valdore from Nemesis (modelled by Dawn, great work - also available for Bridge Commander by the way) and my klingon model the Bloodwing (SFC3 conversion by DarkDrone).

ROMULAN NIERRH DECLOAKS AT THE STARYARDS!

This neat ship caught my eye when I was surfing for cool trek ship models on the now defunct 3dmaxforum.de.
It instantly reminded me of what a Romulan Defiant must be like...

The high-res 3d model designed and created by Nico Weigand was heavily based on somebody else's design, the "Khitomer" class, made by a felow who goes by the handle "EndlessSpaceTime". Both designers gave me permission to recreate the ship for low-poly gaming... and here it is! Enjoy... (Click the image below to go to the Nierrh page) - Cleeve out

MY BEST WORK...

Nope, it isn't even a 3d model... it's a baby boy, and it explains my lack of updates for the last while and my likely lack of updates for the next while. =)

You can't download him, but you can see a bigger picture of my new son, Seth Jonathan Woligroski, by clicking on his mug. Born on Tuesday, August 13th at 11:30 AM after only 2 and a half hours of labor, and weighing in at an even 8 pounds. Woohoo!
Next up on the Staryards: Borg Ships, by request. Don't count on it being soon tho, I *really* need some sleep... - Cleeve out

TO SEEK OUT STRANGE, OLD VIDEO RECORDINGS...

This is some weird shit. No, I mean this is some knock you on your ass bizarro crap. It's really funny, but I was too freaked out to laugh... Words can't really do it justice, but it's a 60's music video with Leonard Nimoy (Spock) singing about Hobbits... download it here if you have quicktime. (Thanks to Pneumonic81 who forwarded this gem to me).

Aside from that, we have updates! The Norway Class for Bridge Commander, done to perfection by Deemon. Also, I've updated the Saber for SFC with new high res textures. And my Saber model has also been ported to Klingon Academy by Radaik and Hidden Agenda:

In addition, the MicroModel of the Enterprise NX-01 is now available! Check her out here:

Also, I've finally gotten around to posting the SFC 2 model viewer in the tools section. - Cleeve out

ROMULAN TNG SECTION FINISHED!

V1, anyway. Sorry for the lack of updates, my wife is on the verge of bursting with our second child, it's just a matter of a couple days now and I've been busy as hell. Anyway, here are the last three rommies to finish off the Rommie TNG section:

Next, I think I'll concentrate on the TMP & TOS Klinks, although there's alot of single ship updates that have to be added. Be patient with me, children take time... =) - Cleeve out

ROMULAN TNG SECTION OPENS!

Don't get too excited, she only has 3 ships right now, but it'll grow. I think it's important to mention that this section would not be possible without DarkDrone and his crew, as they're responsible for converting pretty much all of the Rommie TNG ships to SFC and BC from Armada. Anyway, get 'em in the Romulan TNG section the Talon, the Shadow, and the Shrike:

On a side note, you may notice that I didn't include the Armada and Homeworld versions of these ships... I'm thinking of dropping these games from the staryards as they are RTS games and, honestly, I can't keep up with them nor do I have the time to... so I'm going to have to limit my support of them to links. The Staryards is getting to be more than I can chew, to tell the truth, and I don't want the site to suffer due to my overreaching... - Cleeve out

Back from a week's vacation and a week of hardware problems...
The people have spoken! Freedrive is a *horrible* way to store files. Get this, I'm even *paying* for the service, but I found out that freedrive is limiting people's downloads anyway, not by bandwidth, but by the number of folders I can share. Can you believe it?
Anyway, I'm moving the files over to Geocities. The Fed TOS and TMP sections are now off of Freedrive! Next on my list, moving the fed TNG ships, and then I can actually get back to ADDING NEW ships to the Staryards... - Cleeve out

EXIMIUS CLASS RELEASED!

Well, here is a design I came up with that was inspired by several ships: The Promethius, Voyager, Steamrunner, voyager, and Sovreign classes. She also has elements from her inspiration... the Excellentia Class, another Starfleet battlecruiser design of my own that is set in the movie era. I tried to picture the future of Starfleet, post Enterprise-E... to get a direction where it's going. I'm pleased with the result: =)

Minor update, but I wanted to mention a quick thank-you to 'Fit For Natalie' of the Armada modding community for sending me a TON of info on who designed the ships of trek. The Fed TMP section and the upcoming Fed TNG section are far more complete because of it.
Now that I mention the Fed TNG section, I wanted to add that *yes* I'm still working on it although it's not coming quickly so it will be a bit of a while before it's up yet. I'm working on my Next Generation design, the Eximius Class, as well so I don't have alot of time for either of them. THE STARYARDS HAS RETURNED!

Well, we're back folks... and this time to stay. Although we're not running at full capacity by any means, there's at least something for you to see here.
We've only got the Federation TOS (the original series) and TMP (the motion picture) sections open at this time. But there's no shortage of content there, let me assure you!
You'll find not only models for the Starfleet Command game series, but Star Trek models for Klingon Academy; Complete mods for Star Trek Armada, and Homeworld; and high resolution 3d models, as well as schematics. For some ships, there are even Micromodels available for purchase if you so desire!
Keep in mind the scope of this project is quite large... I'm tryng to create a one-stop-shop for trek mods in all games that have them available now, and games in the future like Bridge Commander... and there *will* be mistakes and things I've overlooked. But please feel free to point them out if you catch 'em.
There's not too many ships now, but lots more are coming... the next section to be opened is the Federation TNG (the next generation) section of the site... so stay tuned!

KLINGON L-9 'SABER' CLASS FRIGATE! AND REFIT!

This ship has never seen anything better than a D-7 kitbash. I thought it deserved more... I tried to make the textures as similar as possible to the other FASA klinks, notably Pneumonic81's, so it would fit in with the rest of 'em. I fought the urge to ultra-detail it, so what you see is just the brutal grace of simple Klingon design. Click the thumbnails below to see pics of her, and download the ship in the Klingon TOS section:

Also available for download is the saber's movie-era upgrade in the Klingon TMP section. The TMP version is simply an upgrade of the original saber kitbash with TMP style textures. - Cleeve out

50,000 HITS! And If *I* designed the series V enterprise...

Well, 50,000 sounds as good a number as any to validate this hobby and the comitment it demands. Thanks for coming by, people! It's nice to have you around. Now to business...

I was sitting at work one day and the new series V 'Akiraprise' was on my mind. Bothering me with it's TNG style... so I sketched some ideas and came up with a ship that incorporates primitive design elements but I think still looks sexy, true to trek, and enterprise-ish. Also, it looks right for the timeline...

Well, I had to do something. The new Akiraprise was really on my nerves. Anyway, designing my own made me feel better. It's hack and hastily thrown together, but you can see where the design is going. Also note that I stole most of the textures from Pneumonic's Daedalus class... they're nuts on for the kind of look I am going for... so a big tip'o the hat to him! So here it is: The Enterprise that never was. I call it the Discovery Class. Click the thumbnails to see larger pics, and download her in the Fed TOS section!

KLINGON SUVWIQEH AND K'TINGA - TNG and TMP!

I was going to make the Suvwiqeh Class from Klingon Academy when I realized that Cromwell had already bashed one nicely from the standard Klink dreadnought back in SFC 1. Man, that was a long time ago... I found the model and it still looks damn good... Kudos to Cromwell!... so I simply illuminated it.

There's two versions: a grey TMP and a green TNG. It bothers me that Interplay greens up the klinks in the TMP era, when in the movies they look way more desaturated than that. I like to keep my TMP and TNG Klinks distinct: (click the thumbnail to view)

With that thought, I greyed out a K'tinga and then modified the engines on the green one like I did on the Klink X-ships in SFC:Orion Pirates to make it appear more TNG-ish:

All of these ships are available in the Klingon TMP and TNG sections. Download and enjoy!

LONGBOW CLASS TORPEDO CRUISER LAUNCHES THE FED TOS SECTION!

Yes, it's time we opened up the Fed TOS section. I have to admit I cheated though... I kitbashed a model by Pneumonic81 instead making my own. Hey, his TOS components rock... why re-invent the wheel?

The design is mine though, heavily based on the Constitution Class. Click the thumbnails below to have a better look, and then download her in the Fed TOS section! - Cleeve out.

Here is an interesting design by John Payne, a fellow who kitbashes actual physical trek models and makes some interesting ship classes out of 'em. You can see his ships here.

It's worth a look, his designs are really incredible... I fancied the design and built her just because. Check her out in the Fed TMP section. 'Nuff said!

THE SABER SLICES HER WAY INTO THE STARYARDS

Here's a little ship that hasn't really been given it's proper due: the Federation Saber Class. There is very little canon info on this ship as there are no decent screencaps of her underside, so many half-decent versions (Even the version in Dominion wars is off base) have been done but none are really close to the real thing... Until now...

Star Trek the magazine has released full blueprints of her a little while ago, so I've tried to do her justice. She's not posted at the staryards yet, but she should be fairly soon, and when she is I'll drop a line in this thread so people know about it. Here's how she looks: (click the thumbnail for larger pics)

And for you bandwith savvy high-bandwidth folks, a 3D shockwave model you can play with in your HTML browser HERE.

Download her in the Fed TNG section! - Cleeve out

IT'S TRUE! PARAMOUNT HAS APPROVED MY SHIPS!!

After working under a dark cloak of secrecy, it has recently become OK for me to tell people that I have been working on ship designs that are to be included in the upcoming game title Starfleet Command: Orion Pirates!

I got to design the Klingon, Romulan, and Lyran X-destroyers and X-cruisers that are to appear in the game. Matt Jeffries, eat your heart out! If you want to see the designs, look at the Klingon and Romulan TMP era sections. They aren't downladable (you have to buy the game to use 'em) but you can have a gander at 'em before the game is released. There are also a ton of screenshots at gamespy.com in these links:

Also at the StarYards... a new ship designed by one of the premier members of the scifiart.com community. The Churchill class by Anarion! This is the only ship offered at the StarYards that I haven't done myself. Design, mesh, and textures by Anarion... I just exported the mod file for him, made a break mod, cleaned up the textures, and added hardpoints & stuff. Check it out, and when you're done drooling, download her in the Fed TMP section:

A small note: I've updated the Wandrian class. She sits a little lower in the game so it's easier to fly. Download her in the Fed TMP section... try her out and you'll know what I mean. - Cleeve out

ALL FEAR THE BIRD OF DEATH!

I've loved this ship since the first time I've seen her: The Klingon bird of death. Not a canon ship, but a fan design from Tachy, a premier member of the great trek art site scifiart.com

Tachy was gracious enough to allow me to recreate his baby for SFC II, and she can be downloaded in the Klink TNG section. Click the thumbnails below for big pics of her beating up a Miranda Class:

CLEEVE IS BACK FROM THE DEAD.

Whoa! No updates in more than a month! Yes, I have been a very busy fellow. I'm still not available for SFC shipbuilding as much as I'd like, but I have cleaned some of the work off of my plate and should have a little more time on my hands to pump out a ship once in a while. ;)

And this one has been a long time coming! The Wandrian Class, one of my own designs. I started this model a long time ago, I even posted an early version, but it got put aside when the Illumination plugin became available. Since then, I've pretty much been updating ships when I've had the time.

Without further adue... the Wandrian Class: (click the pics to view larger versions)

Go ahead and download this baby in the Fed TMP section!

ALSO!!!! Don't forget to check her out in shockwave 3D!

I'm experimenting with a shockwave plugin that allows the user to view & rotate the model over the web! The link is right here - Cleeve out

AND NOW THE MERCHANTMAN...

Yeah, yeah... I know, I haven't made any updates for a long time... well, I've been busy... REALLY busy. Lots of projects on the go, contract work, and even a 'special' project that's been taking up alot of my time lately... but more on that later.

For now, I have illuminated my Merchantman and M2000 ships. Check out the pics by clicking on 'em below:

The Merchantman:

And it's big cousin, the m2000:

Download these ships in the 'other ships' section of the StarYards. Also of note: For the people who are having problems with my SFC1 models not working in SFC1, I have recompiled my Orion Wanderer SFC1 model so it should work fine. - Cleeve out

THE K'TEREMNY IS FINALLY LIT (Or is that lighted?)

What used to be a model that was simply mangled D-7 geometry is now quite customized and far more accurate. Don't take my word for it, click on the pics below:

ILLUMINATED TNG ROMULANS & OTHER THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT

Finally illuminated my romulans... thanks to Crymson for doing illumination ver 1 for these ships. Once again, I've cleaned 'em up and added hardpoints, damagepoints, and break mods: (click pics for bigger versions)

The Shrike:

and The Talon:

Also of note: I have re-released all the ships in the Fed TNG section (The Freedom, Challenger, and Niagara Classes) with SFC 1 compatible MOD files due to requests... apparently people still play the old game...

Also, there is a thread at the taldren forums that showcases some Klingon ships I'm working on, including the K'teremny class. Check it out here. - Cleeve out

BYARRRG! PIRATES!

The orion wanderer is the only ship designed for the FASA trek-based starship game system that was ever seen in an official star trek series: (Click the pics for bigger versions).

Although the ship model was never actually seen flying in space, the schematic diagram of the Wanderer class has been seen (upside-down) on multiple occasions on random viewscreens in episodes of Star Trek: the next generation. Presumably, Paramount used some FASA materials as filler before the FASA fell out of favor with the moviemaking giant. One TNG episode in which the ship diagram was featured was 'Conspiracy', and it is from this episode that the screen capture that accompany's the file was taken. (the file is called "TNG episode conspiracy.jpg")

It's a great design, well balanced and pretty. The ship is the size of a large destroyer but is a match for cruiser-sized vessels, as it is an orion pirate vessel, armed to the teeth and outfitted with the best systems money can buy. Have fun with her! Download her in the 'Other races' section...- Cleeve out

THE ILLUMINATED VOR'CHA LIGHTS UP THE KLINGON SECTION...

Yeagh, I know... I haven't done any totally new mods lately. Well, I've been busy, but rest assured there's alot on my agenda yet.

To pacify you in the meanwhile, here's my illuminated Vor'cha (click on the pics for larger versions):

THE FEDERATION TNG SECTION OPEN FOR BUSINESS
(AGAIN) AND THE NEGH'VAR ARRIVES (AGAIN)

Three new Fed TNG mods for you folks. 95% of the work was done by Pneumonic81 as these are just kitbash jobs on my part... why re-invent the wheel when he's already made a perfect one, right?

Here's the ships, click on the thumbnails to see bigger pics:

The Niagara Class:

The Freedom Class:

And the Challenger Class:

The Niagra, Challenger, and Freedom classes are ships, although officially shown on Star Trek: The Next Generation, are rarely heard of. They were floating in the battle wreckage of Wolf 359 after the Borg cube had attacked. None of these ships got the close-ups they deserved, but now you can look at 'em all you want in SFC II!

Also released is the illuminated Negh'Var Class. This ship was illuminated by Crymson, and since he did such a good job I Resized her, added detail to the bottom (which you couldn't see in SFC I anyway) made a break model, and added hardpoints & damagepoints as well. See the pic below:

Thanks Crymson and Pneumonic81 for your hard work... couldn't have done it without you. - Cleeve out

THE DAWN OF A NEW ERA

The StarYard are still here... only in a vastly smaller capacity. Remember, the site's not leaving for good, it's just vastly reduced in scope... now, instead of everyone's models, the StarYards will only offer my own. Undoubtedly, this will put an end to the high-bandwidth charges that have forced me to reduce my site's offerings. ; )

Nevertheless, the StarYards must go on! To consummate this new arrangement, I have illuminated one of my favorite personal designs, the Charger Class fast destroyer. Here are some in-game shots (click 'em to see the larger versions):

Hope you guys don't mind bearing with me a while, alot of the site sections are empty... Federation TOS and TNG, and Rommie TMP are bare right now... but I'm working on it! Later... - Cleeve

THE STARYARDS ARE SHUTTING DOWN... SORT OF...

Hello my friends, Good news and Bad News... The bad news first:

The StarYards have been too successful for it's own good. Due to the growing high bandwidth charges the expenses of maintaining my site have entered the 'unacceptable' realm. It is with great regret that I must inform you that the StarYards will cease to be as you have known it.

The recent bandwidth charge for my site isn't the only reason for my decision... trying to be both an all encompassing webmaster and modeller at the same time has really taken a toll on my free time, and I've got some big contracts coming up to boot... I'd like to spend my SFC time on modelling as opposed to webmastering. On top of this, I have a wife and child that need my time... and lastly I want to join Kung-fu again... I haven't been there in a while, I'm getting soft... ; )

Now for the good... hell, the great news: Pneumonic81 has graciously offered me a place at APOC, and I'm taking him up on it. www.STARYARDS.com will still exist, but will house only the models I have made for SFC I and II. Pneumonic made me this generous offer a while ago, and I didn't think I'd take him up on it. But when I got my latest hosting bill, and reflected on my nonexistant free time, I decided it was the right decision for me.

Thanks to everyone who has helped me post stuff, gather information, and everything else. And thanks to the modellers that supplied all of these top quality models. I've really appreciated it, and so did all the people who downloaded the ship they were looking for. I truly believe that SFC has the most talented modelmakers of any Star Trek game ever modded!

Enjoy the StarYards in all her colossal glory while you can... she'll be up for a little while, 'till I have everything ready for the move over to APOC. And stay tuned! We'll still have stuff to offer, it'll just be... different. ;)

Sincerely,
- Cleeve

With a new set of warp engines and textures, she's available with illumination maps, and comes with a set of alternate textures to make her a strike carrier, by request. Thanks to PPRBoy who helped tweak her textures to perfection. Grab her in the Fed TMP section. Schnell!

Also re-released: the Soyuz and Constellation classes, with the new high-detailed warp engines found on the Excellentia. Have fun with 'em, that's what they're there for... - Cleeve out

HOW VERY ILLUMINATING...

IT'S HERE! Taldren has finally released the plugin that allows us modellers to create SFC II models with Illumination maps!
And with that, there are 2 ships with this feature at the staryards. Here's how they look: (click the picture for the large version)

The Soyuz:

And the Constellation (Stargazer):

Saints be praised! These two are just the start, folks... there's LOTS more to come. Pick these beauties up in the Fed TMP secction, and look for the green 'included' text that indicates if a model has the SFC II illumination maps. -Cleeve out

WE"VE BEEN ASSIMILATED!

Updates, updates, updates. The Borg section is finally opened in the Other Races section. We've added a whack of new ships by Pneumonic81 (doesn't this guy let up?) such as the (pre) TOS fed Wasp and Daedalus classes, and the TMP fed Belknap, Ascention, and Knox classes. Proud to offer Chad Simmon's neat little missile frigate, the Hornet class, also in the fed TMP section.

I am also extremely proud to be able to say thet the entire Fed TMP section has been upgraded to our new format. Thanks again to
Russ 'Tumulorum Fossor' Khater who made it possible by collecting whacks of data. - Cleeve out
