Title :Cardassian Nor Class Orbital Mineral Processing Facility Federation Deep Space Nine Battlestation Filename :fDS9_512.zip Date :9/18/2001 Author :Maggot Email :RandallStong@prodigy.net Credits :Model Design: Firehawk Textures: Trunks, Maggot, Okuda, Sternbach, Drexler Texture Application: Maggot Illumination: Dark Drone Hardpoints: Dark Drone Break Model: Dark Drone Credit Request: If you distribute, post or share any of these models or alter them and subsequently distribute, post or share any of these models please be nice and give credit where credit is due. This readme should always accompany these models wherever they go. Is that too much to ask? I think not. Description of the Modification: ------------------------------- This model is based on ship designs first seen in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. This is very much a team effort as well as a work in progress. The mesh was created by Firehawk. It is a very detailed, High polygon mesh of around 4400 polys. The textures I obtained from many sources including Trunks, The Star Trek Deep Space Nine Technical Manual, Star Trek: The Magazine etc. This version of the DS9 model supports both high resolution 512x512 pixel texture maps as well as standard low res 256x256 maps. Both versions of the texture maps are 24-bit color. After completion of the model and textures using Lightwave, UView and Photoshop, I hand the model over to Dar Drone for final processing. Drone completed the Illumination, hard points and Break model. The break model is truly extraordinary....we never got to see Deep Space Nine explode into a kajillion pieces on television. Now is your chance. The mesh has been scaled to 1500 meters at 1:20 meters and thus is in proportion to all Maggot Models at Utopia Planitia. Like all Maggot models, this model is accompanied by textures and a helpful and informative readme file, which you are reading now....:) Technical Details: ----------------- Tested successfully in SFC version 1.00, 1.01 and 102.01 24-bit High resolution texture maps have been tested in SFC2:EAW and SFC:OP using Radeon, GeForce and TNT2 video. Some video cards may not support all features History: -------- This can either be a Cardassian Space Station of the Nor Class or Deep Space Nine. If you need history on this puppy, you don't deserve to download it. How to use this file: --------------------- Create an "fDS9" subdirectory in your assets\models directory. Unzip the contents of the fDS9_512.zip file. Copy the resulting uncompressed files into the fDS9 subdirectory of your assets/models directory. Alter the geometry entry on a Sfbspc13.txt or shiplist file line to read assets/models/fDS9/DS9c.mod Change the UI entry to "FSB" (Or whatever starbase you want this to take the place of) Change the Ship description line (if you are using an unpatched SFC version) to read: "Federation Deep Space Nine" or "Cardassian Nor Class Orbital Mining Facility" or something. Play that sucker. ****** email me at Randallstong@prodigy.net if you have any questions.
